5K a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago MPL Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Support Assistant I in Sparta, NJ.
This a laboratory support position reporting to the Assistant Group Leader of Laboratory Services.
Ideal candidate will prepare, clean, and maintain the laboratory.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare media using the media work instructions Assist with autoclave validations Sanitize controlled environment rooms Perform all phases of glassware washing to include loading and operating laboratory dishwashers and manually washing dishware Assist with all phases of media sterilization to include autoclave loading and operation (if over age 18) Conduct end-of -day Spor Klenz RTU spraying of laboratory areas Report low inventory of supplies to the Group Leader of Lab Services Clean autoclaves, stove tops and bench tops Perform all phases of waste disposal to include removing garbage, samples, broth and plate disposal Remove expired laboratory stock and equipment according to established disposal procedures Perform all phases of quality assurance and quality control of record keeping including entering scientific, incubating and recording data and test results into log books on a daily basis File quality assurance and quality control information in accordance with established procedures Drive to off-site locations to obtain samples from clients as requested Operate laboratory equipment to include balances, dispensers and pH meters Ensure cleanliness of laboratory equipment Monitor functioning of laboratory equipment, and notify the Operations Manager of needed repairs, maintenance, calibration and validation Adhere to all approved safety standards to include wearing approved clothing and personal protective equipment Lift and carry boxes of water, petri dishes and general laboratory equipment throughout laboratory and at client locations Move new shipments of boxed water Read and follow standard operating procedures Clean carts and return them to Lab 1 and Lab 2 Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required Associates Degree/certification in related scientific/medical program a plus Microbiology laboratory experience a plus Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Must have math aptitude for calculations Must have good data entry and computer skills Must be able to work independently and with a team Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment Background Check Required Available Shift:
